History of Octorara Area

Christiana, PA (zip code 17509) was once part of the historical underground railroad used to secretly move African Americans from Slavery in the south to freedom in the north. On September 11, 1851 Edward Gorsuch along with US marshall where involved in a violent clash that reverberated throughout the US.
